About Your Doula
Veterinarian, Doula, Mom
Hello! I graduated with my DVM in 2013 and then had my first baby in 2014. Over the past 8+ years of working in full-time clinical practice and having two more babies, I started seeing some specific patterns and commonalities among veterinary colleagues through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys.

I quickly realized that while many childbirth courses offer great content, they are either difficult to access for veterinarians working full-time, or they focus a lot on topics that are not completely relevant to veterinarians. As a result, most vets are not accessing comprehensive childbirth education at all.

So in 2021, after the birth of my third child at home, I decided to create a course specifically for veterinarians. I started by taking a comprehensive doula training course to solidify my knowledge base and to learn about supporting others in their individual journeys. I completed a course through Indie Birth Doula Academy in 2022.

I have created a course with on-demand access, short easy video format, printables for easy review on-the-go, and information specifically chosen to reflect the priorities of vets, based on what vets told me they want!

I still work in small animal clinical practice in Cary, North Carolina. I am a certified Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist (VMRT) and a Certified Veterinary Herbalist. I also work ER! I'm a mom to three. I am married to my high school sweetheart. We share our home with two "foster fail" kitties and an inherited farm cat. All three kitties are completely spoiled bottle babies.
